Get Images Library Photos and Pictures. Camillo Golgi Golgi Structure by Fumihiko Maki 1967. A Japanese city design that portrays the visions of the future - the reconstruction of the city after war. At a closer examination of the design, it is simply layers of material stacked on top of each other with gap, similar to scaffolding platforms to resemble the process of reconstruction and what it will look like to the artist if a whole city was being reconstructed.
. Drawing of the neuronal circuit found in the retina by Spanish scientist Santiago Ramón y Cajal in 1901. By applying Camillo Golgi's tissue-staining method with patience and virtuosity, he laid the foundations for the modern field of neuroscience The first illustration by Camillo Golgi showing a network of neurons found in the olfactory bulb of a dog. In 1873 Golgi invented a method, now called Golgi-stain, which is used to image neurons in different tissues. It's based on reaction between potassium dichromate & silver nitrate which leads to silver chromate being deposited on cell membranes & giving them dark color. Only random & relatively few neurons are stained at a time allowing to distinguish single cells part of neuronal networks.
